YÖS: Foreign Student University Exam
Turkey offers a wide range of educational opportunities for international students. To study at Turkish universities, foreign students must first pass the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS). This exam has been conducted by universities themselves since 2011.
What is YÖS?
YÖS is an exam that foreign nationals must take to pursue higher education in Turkey. Students who pass the exam and meet the required score can enroll in the universities they applied to. YÖS exams are generally conducted in both Turkish and English, consisting of two main sections: the Basic Learning Skills Test and the Turkish Language Test.
Who Can Participate in YÖS?
To take the YÖS exam:
- You must be a foreign national,
- Be in the final year of high school or have already graduated,
- Not hold Turkish citizenship.
Additionally, those who have acquired Turkish citizenship later on or Turkish citizens who have studied abroad can also apply.
